Priyansh Arya (born 18 January 2001) is an Indian cricketer who plays for Delhi in domestic cricket and is part of Punjab Kings in IPL. He is a left-handed opener. He made his IPL debut on 25 March 2025 for Punjab Kings in a match against Gujarat Titans.

Early Life and Background

Priyansh Arya was born and brought up in Delhi. He started playing cricket at the age of just 7, under the guidance of coach Sanjay Bhardwaj. His parents always supported his cricketing dreams, but also stressed the need for him to focus on academics, as both of them are involved in the education field.

Arya himself has said that if he had not become a cricketer, he would have probably become a teacher like his parents. His cricketing idol has been Gautam Gambhir. He used to watch his practices as a child, which greatly influenced his aggressive batting style.

He is also a very close friend of Ayush Badoni, who is another Delhi cricketer and has made a name for himself in the IPL.

    • T20: Priyansh Arya made his T20 debut for Delhi against Uttarakhand in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) on 4 November 2021. In this match, he scored 19 runs (16 balls).

    • In the 2024-25 season, he gave an even better performance – 325 runs in 9 innings, with an impressive average of 40.62 and strike rate 176.63. In this season, he also scored a century – 102 runs off 43 balls against Uttar Pradesh, which included 5 fours and 10 sixes.

Under-19 Cricket

Priyansh Arya participated in the quadrangular series for India A Under-19s in 2019, where he was accompanied by players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravi Bishnoi. However, he could not become a part of the U-19 World Cup squad.

Priyansh Arya made his first-class debut for Delhi against Tamil Nadu in the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy.
